Sometimes I get a bit peeved by people treating cute art (and by extension, art for kids) like it's less than other art. It's dumb, it's simple, it's low effort. Then I sign another 5-figure book contract & think 'you know what, it's fine, maybe it's just the best kept secret in illustration'
