I Remember, Hope you do….

ICYMI over the long weekend, my column on the No Jets win. Inspired a bit by some Liberal MP taking an undeserved victory lap when they aren't covered in glory. That, and I don't totally trusts their long term sincerity on all this. It was the people's victory, no one else.

What they taught in school: GDP up = good. What they left out: The atmosphere has a limit. Soil can die. Water can run out. 8 billion people need a living planet, not just a growing economy.

I’m in a bookstore now. This shelf holds books from publishers affected by the russian attack on August 1, when eight million books were destroyed. The bookstore is asking people to buy their books. I wanted to remember this shelf.

I delivered all 3 of my kids at hospitals that no longer provide labor and delivery care. Maine has lost 10 birthing units in just the past decade. While I appreciate the challenges hospitals like Lincoln face, closing this unit would be devastating for patients, workers, and Midcoast communities.
