Heard this week from multiple developers who said that the conduit for eventual electrification of parking and the electric only and no gas requirements were seemingly adding more to their expenses. Latter was something I really wondered about unless it's a sufficient panel support problem.

Much like progressive suburban politics need to take down car dealerships, who have a similar stranglehold on local government. Those dealerships bring in both property taxes and high levels of sales taxes (a huge boon for local govt), and channel their massive profits back into local GOP campaigns.

It's easier to say "ugh car dealerships" than "ugh farmers" but you're still dealing with a similar geographic 3rd rail fiefdom employer.
