This is your semi-regular reminder that you live in a cyberpunk dystopia. This one thanks to a tip from @sentinelhillpress.bsky.social

I also emailed them. Please, join us. Transphobic bigots cannot be allowed to keep winning.
Ted (& technically Ro)I just emailed Amnesty to ask them how they expect to call themselves defenders of human rights if they will roll over for any hate group that merely mentions lawfare. I hope you will too.
This is a good thread thinking about the reasons why Deathbringer appeals to some people. This last comment though, I don’t know why bankuei is assuming OSR people are the ones backing Deathbringer. I don’t know of anyone who plays OSR who would give Prof DM the time of day.
A lot of kids was busting rhymes but they had no tasteOne of the funniest things to me is that this crowd usually worships pre-3E D&D and talk about how important the Reaction Roll is... Which basically posits many encounters with intelligent beings as potential non-combat encounters to start. (Of course, in contrast to Gygax's genocide preferences)
Imagine someone else that isn't a white lady doing this for Islam.
Hemant MehtaEvangelist Whitney Lynn says she preaches on planes because she loves “a captive audience.” She's not alone. It's becoming a trend. If spreading your message requires listeners who can't escape, maybe it's not as compelling as you think. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/christian-...
I was the go-to nerd parent in the playground so I often got asked, "My kid wants to play Call of Duty, how old do you think it's ok?" I would tell them that they are worried for a reason, those games are awful.
A lot of kids was busting rhymes but they had no tasteJacob Geller's video on Call of Duty games and torture being pushed as a "necessarily evil, well maybe not evil, maybe they deserve it" message is probably one the clearest examples. youtu.be/YPiL3-CYzWk?...

With some urgency: if you've got any paying writing work, or any leads on the same, right now I could VERY much use some meaningful employment as a writer.
Oliver GerlachHi #PortfolioDay ! I'm Ollie, and I write comics (and increasingly prose). You may know me from THE RESTAURANT AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD, or 2000AD, or various award-winning anthology projects. I'm open for work at the moment, any genre, any length! Also: You folks trying to explain the textureless "always evil pig orc" via pointing out that TTRPGs come from wargames--- I don't get why this explains anything. Tabletop wargamers *fucking love* texture. These are the guys who make up silly backstories for each 28mm figure they have!
Zedeck SiewWhat's the deal with games needing monsters you can kill with no remorse? I keep seeing TTRPGs touting this in their marketing ... There was Obojima, a while back; now Deathbringer with its pig-faced orcs. I genuinely don't get this! What desire is being served here---and whose? 1/
In Scotland a trans doctor was found to have been harassed by a racist nurse. The doctor now lives abroad, having fled the country, and is still hounded by our media despite living on the opposite side of the planet. The nurse gets front-page spreads holding her up like a saviour of womenkind.
AngharadSorry Aiden, did you miss Beth Upton being hounded out of the country and harassed in her new home when she'd done nothing wrong? All the while the bigot Peggie was treated like a saint, not a harasser. The press will bend the story to breaking point to avoid showing Rowling for what she really is.
