Thanks to everyone who supported safe biking along Hopkins! The plan passed 7-2! While we wait for more official records, the below is a good summary of the key motions and votes.
Infrastructure WeakBerkeley City Council decision on Hopkins bikeway referral to staff: - CM Kesarwani-drafted item passes 7-2: buffered lanes Sutter to The Alameda, bikeways to Peralta, speed cushions to Stannage. Additional minor amendments made in-meeting.
In case you need a reminder, tomorrow’s Council meeting is CRITICAL and safe biking will need a lot of support - ideally in person!
BerkeleysideBerkeley leaders will decide on an updated plan to build the long-debated bike lanes, at the expense of more than 100 parking spaces.
