What a fabulous piece of film criticism.

I photoshopped a picture of Steve Jobs holding this book like an iPod at one of his keynotes and then forgot about it and left work so just imagine it. And then buy and read it. And most importantly watch the Danny Boyle film Steve Jobs

3 months after the publication of STEVE JOBS MONOGRAPH, I want to say thank you to everyone who bought a copy of this labor of love and criticism. It means so much that you've welcomed our little book into your lives

I love being edited, being challenged, being asked to think more about why I wrote something. I recognise it's harder and harder to land pitches let alone with editors who have the time to do that work anymore but I also think a lot of substackers could stand to be professionally edited

But there are still a handful of films from that era I adore, most of all SPEED RACER and DEAD MAN’S CHEST. And I’ll always be infinitely grateful for that onslaught of the new.

Speed Racer is coming back to theaters before the new 4K remaster hits discs, so it's time for me to remind you that Speed Racer is a cubist masterpiece
