Some of the dumbest shit committed racists believe, and they believe a lot of very dumb shit, is that immigrants who leave impoverished violent despotisms to come and live in free & prosperous democracies do so because they intend to recreate the old despotism in their new home

If you post survey data, news articles, etc. without a link back to the source whenever possible, you are weakening the informational chain of custody and making it harder for other people to confirm that they're seeing accurate information. This holds even if you're mad at whatever it is.

Like, that is fundamentally the unknown factor in American politics over the next 2-3 years where I feel like I have no idea where things are going to go because "politician has iron grip on a major political party while *staggeringly* unpopular" is just not a configuration we've seen before.
