Turns out that food companies were only checking their food because the government told them to, which is exactly why we need government regulations.

Pretty much any service or benefit that is provided by the government, whether federal, state or local, is a form of socialism. Roads are socialist. Law enforcement is socialist. They benefit society and are paid for by some sort of taxation on the public. There's anarchy or socialist government.
The Tennessee HollerWATCH — @johnleguizamo.bsky.social: “I’m a Democratic Socialist. I’ve always felt education, health care should be a right not a privilege. Socialist programs are important, like the post office, the fire department, social security, public education… these are socialist programs.”

The answer to "why does everything suck now" almost ALWAYS goes back to "venture capital." Which goes back to "a lot of people have too much money and don't know what to do with it." Which goes back to: "We need to tax rich people more." It's like it's the solution to 99% of our problems!!

Fine print time: no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security — all real, all narrower than advertised, and all expire at the end of 2028. The tax cuts for wealthy families in the same bill? Permanent. https://newsletter.platypuseconomics.com/p/justin-answers-your-questions-on

The last Republican President to not start a Middle East war was Reagan and that's because he was illegally selling weapons to Iran to fund an illegal war in Central America.
Andrew Lawrencei wish there had been some way to know a republican president would start an unwinnable war in the middle east that did nothing more than pad the bank accounts of him and his cronies

When journalists asked me "where we will see the effects of DOGE on outcomes?" one of my responses was "during crises...as long as media connect the dots." Well, dots connected: www.wired.com/story/cdc-cy...
