He looks off in that photo. I’ve known a few older ppl who developed various forms of dementia & it’s always in the eyes that you can see it. They have that unfocused, vacant appearance. I’m not saying his views are a result of that, I suspect they were always there, but that photo is disturbing.

Would he though? Maybe he was always secretly horrible but kept a lid on it for the sake of his career? I always felt that he played simmering rage a bit *too* convincingly.

How right you are. I remember the disappointment when I learned that Dennis Quaid was a Trump supporter. The rise of MAGA has exposed what so many of these people truly are. And as you say, it’s usually the ones who’ve become irrelevant that are the most vocal - Voight, Woods & Sorbo come to mind.

I liked it, but it’s a sombre watch & I’m not sure I’d watch it again. Ryan Gosling was extremely good in it, and if he wants to make the movie equivalent of a Pop-Tart then I’m fine with that. Also, Project Hail Mary was great, & he was extremely good in it, and I probably WILL watch it again.
