This is especially dumbfounding to me because I was in the Gironde last month, and every one of the half dozen winemakers I spoke to brought up climate change, unbidden. It's foremost on everyone's mind!

Dr. Genevieve Guenther (she/they)

An entire article about the ways #ClimateChange is decimating the Bourdeux wine region of France — that never mentions the words “climate change.” This is journalistic malpractice. Not even high-school papers leave out such necessary context. #EndClimateSilence www.nytimes.com/2026/07/28/w...

this is a super important point re: climate change and public health. and it gets ignored because everyone (and especially the people we elect) are used to kicking the can on the hard stuff. time's up

Because I'm not an ecofascist, I believe in letting the electorate decide between winning and losing, even with these stakes. But they need all the help that they can get, and we don't have infinite time to try little gambles on rebuilding trust that will take a decade to pay off. Gotta get it right

It's something I realised on old Twitter. I've never cared much about numbers, but something I did note was that the posts that tended to get the most traction were angry or funny. Angry AND funny was the honeypot. It's less prominent here, but you can still see the pattern.

Do social media platforms want you to be angry? It seems so, considering that posts with hostile language receive 85.7% more shares. Interesting insights from @c40cities.bsky.social on how social media targets rage: www.linkedin.com/posts/c40-ci... No wonder the world is so polarised.
