The Ronan encampment has existed for years but as the Chicago Parks District clears encampments throughout the city, houseless folks get displaced and move to already formed encampments in the city. With the recent closure of the encampment at Legion park, folks have moved into Ronan.

There is conflict in the neighborhood. Some people showed up with signs demanding the encampment gets cleared, while others showed up to advocate for the park residents.
