Yeah. I could see an argument about audience capture happening once you've already built a substantial lefty audience, but that's a risk of any established audience and may even be less true of many lefty audiences.

I'm not sure I entirely agree (mostly because the survey responses are an order of magnitude off for the population that is Jewish and Muslim), but this is an interesting counterpoint.

Some of what I described is a hassle, but "hassle and preference" seems to be underselling having to spend hours on public transit, not being able to afford the ingredients for your kid's birthday cake, or having the threat of overdraft fees loom over every supermarket trip.

Literal starvation is rare—and this is fair to point out—but this is in part because poor people go to great efforts to go to food pantries, fill out SNAP applications, budget carefully, etc. These seem like reasonable things for leftists to be concerned about.

Cultural appropriation is certainly a real problem but for some people (mostly white people) it seems to completely overshadow the fact that a lot of people enjoy sharing or exchanging their culture, and that desire doesn’t disappear because a culture has been historically oppressed.

This seems like a reasonable use of one's 4th amendment rights. Unless he was under court order, there's nothing unlawful about deleting data. Duress passwords like this should be the default.

there’s also a very specific, textured experience of this that I rarely see in writeups of all this. Probably because it’s a finer-grained policy, specific to some kinds of items. But, stores won’t let me even HOLD or touch or put items like a flat iron.
