The city's own report makes it clear this wasn't a problem with the business plan but a consequence of cost overruns. City council should be familiar with this since they've heard about it multiple times on their own capital projects

Provincial government did not directly confirm it rejected funding requests. But it did say that government officials communicated to the Globe Theatre that "project costs, including overruns, are the responsibility of the recipient as outlined in the funding agreement."

Froh: We're being asked to write a cheque today. The feds are being asked to write a cheque. My understanding is the provincial govt has said no to writing a cheque even though the request represents 0.0227% of their annual $22billion budget. #yqrcc
