The above is a super common narrative structure for mystery stories, and I think it will apply here. I believe the little evidence we currently have points to Carol or Dess, but we're still in step 2 territory, and once the fan club actually suspects her, we'll see new evidence pointing elsewhere.

1. A mystery is introduced 2. The viewer is given evidence that points to one culprit but the protagonist doesn't put it together yet 3. The protagonist finally catches on and laser focuses on that suspect 4. New evidence changes everything, and the actual culprit is someone no one expected

Awesome game. Be careful about saving in dungeons because doors will re-lock when you load, and you have to rely on random drops from enemies to get keys. It's possible to wind up permanently stuck in a couple places if I recall.

In my last Blades in the Dark game, there were a total of 27 d6 rolled, and none of them came up as a 6. 0.7% chance. A few weeks ago in a different game, I had 12 failed skill checks in a row. < 0.02% chance. The BitD game was on roll20, the other was physical dice. Odds are bullshit.

Odds are meaningless if you only get one roll. It is in your best interest to assume anything with random chance involved *will* fuck you over unless you can average it out over dozens or hundreds of attempts. Fate loves to punish hubris.

I feel like $1mil is probably the worst amount of money you can win. Like psychologically, it would really suck. Not enough to retire on, and so you're still stuck working for decades, knowing you've got all this money you can't touch because you need to save it for later.
