I laughed so hard I cried when I saw this elsewhere. Worth a watch. And please find a home for as many small press books as you can.

About a month ago, my partner & I went to the drive-in (I didn't know these still existed and it's a favorite part of living on this coast now) We were planning on seeing a double feature: Disclosure Day and Backrooms.

But also, we have a new animal companion, a frog or toad (I think it's a toad but I'm in a whole new area of the county so who knows what they look like here!) They come out at night to eat bugs. We're very protective of our new frog/toad friend. My partner has put out a little hut for it.

I should be reading the ARCs I have for books that released 2 days ago and the one for next week. I read Codex because I'm still catching up after closing a tab in February (only 10 days behind now!)

I watched Jurassic Park several times over the past few years, partially because the novel I wrote in 2024 is about the aftermath billionaires creating dinosaurs again, but I'm putting it on tonight again.

Hello new friends from the @writehive.bsky.social conference this weekend! (And old friends.) I am currently barely doing any social media except for being random at this point.

The Predicting the Future panel is excellent (if I do say so myself as the moderator.) Valerie Valdes, Robert K Jeffrey II, and Cristina Jurado were fantastic in discussion about the topics. You can register (for free) and be in the Discord by morning!

WriteHive 🐝

Tomorrow, we're kicking off day 2 of #WriteHive2026 with the panels Predicting the Future: Where Science Fiction Could Explore Next and Staying Safe While Marketing. Join us at 10am ET!

Well I needed to read this.

you know what else is difficult? getting a gallery show. having your short story published. getting your novel even read by an editor. getting into a degree program in the arts. having a sculpture commissioned for enough money to pay the rent for a while.
