It’s of a piece with the insistence on denouncing displays of basic decency as “virtue signalling”: If you’re kind of shitty and selfish and cruel, it’s grating to see people NOT behaving that way. So you need to invent ways to drag them down to your level.

Sure. dotcoms are pretty well claimed at this point. (Though my daughter managed to get her firstnamelastname.com just a few weeks ago.) But we're also in an era of *tons* of top level domains beyond com, org, and net. And one or more of those is probably available. E.g.:

Josh Hawley has a law degree from Yale. He know that "no honest person pleads the fifth" is a lie, and he understands why it's a lie. But he also know that the audience he's performing for doesn't know that and doesn't understand it, and he values the performance over his own honesty.

The idea here, and in the piece I'll get to eventually, is that your ATProto PDS functions as the place all the information in your webpage lives. So it's basically your host. And in that case, yes, there are various hosting providers, but you can also host it yourself fairly easily.

So many problems could be solved by just building a lot more housing.
