If looking at J Crew, Classics are nice, but Broken In Straights are better for me. Both are 100% cotton. Classics are heavier/stiffer fabric and cut very wide (more old school/military). BIS are more preppy: midweight but substantial, cut loose but less extreme, w/ a higher waist than Classics.

Yeah, I love his stuff. Engine Summer and Little Big are still my favorites, but I fully enjoyed the Aegypt series and own most of the rest. Still need to read a few. Enjoy Four Freedoms!

Crowley deserves to be much better read. Like all his later stuff (or really, all of his stuff), Four Freedoms has a strange feel, but I remember enjoying it a lot when it came out. Ka is also fantastic.

Still early days for these projects but usually I prefer a quick discussion where they can present their findings. Depends on the project though. This doesn’t work as well if it’s a new issue for both of us (unfortunately common in my practice area).

There’s no great solution, but it doesn’t fully replace a junior associate either. My thought is to send them off to take a stab at these projects on their own (using the tools at hand), then check in with me for a steer and have them take a crack at the eventual analysis.
