If you look at their candidates and their platform, you'll realize they are moderate. They are what the Dems used to be prior to Citizens United.

Mamdani has governed as a traditional liberal democrat so far and that’s what the 3 winners he supported seem to be too. Democratic socialists are not socialist democrats

I can see that. I'm not a New Yorker, but from everything I can see they are the ones who are defending the values that Democrats used to hold dear.

I don't know, but it doesn't seem like their votes are counting for much. How many Palestinians are still dying in Gaza and the West Bank? How many Lebanese civilians are dying?

I think activities intended to effect even the partial destruction of an ethnic/religious group counts as a genocide. Gaza counts. Lebanon counts. The West Bank counts.
