The anti-Roma bigotry and politics in Europe that remains common and accepted is truly shocking. When you realize things like forced sterilization and pogroms still occur even now it makes you realize how little has been done since 1945 to stop it. It must be fought.
Dr James PeateToday is Roma Holocaust Memorial Day. Around 500,000 Roma & Sinti people were killed by the Nazis in the Porajmos. There was no state given to them after the war. Commemoration of their suffering is often diminished or forgotten. Racism towards Romani people across Europe remains acceptable.
