when capitalism turns art into a source of cheap labor to increase profit margins, then how can we place our trust in corpos in being able to determine that art still has its worth when the profit margins become smaller and smaller while they further belittle the craft

i guess what i'm trying to say is i always disagreed with the notion of giving a corporation exactly what they want: money. giving a corrupt entity what they desire means you've given them what they wanted, but with no assurances that you'll get what *you* wanted

I'm curious then, what is the better alternative if the artists who worked on it begged for us to wait for the official release?

i'd say in a perfect world, boycotting/cancelling subs until they would have given us the theatrical release we would've wanted (and the movie deserved) because it's clear they had shut that down in an attempt to boost numbers for their streaming site by making it the sole official option available
