You'll Google something or bring up something you saw on Facebook, and they'll say "You couldn't have seen that without connecting to a data center." They're absolutely right. But you didn't need MORE data centers to do it. /7

You don't need MORE data centers to doom scroll or binge a show on Netflix or listen to your favorite podcast. There is no justification for the speed at which these facilities are being built or for placing them next to neighborhoods and small businesses. /8

Spot on! We need means of communication. We don't need to sell souls to AI and that does seem to be the drive behind the data center boom. I live overseas and depend on Internet for much of my US news, but I can't get it now without 3 or 4 ads per vid for 'learn AI in 28 days.' Really?
