Am grateful to the diggers who’ve helped give a 2nd life to many African records esp. from Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Mali, Kenya, Congo, South Africa & Ethiopia It’s come in waves: 1st the v/a compilations, then single artist comps, & in the last decade esp. more full albums are being reissued

One example of the latter is Albarika Store, out of Benin, which has been reissuing some corkers over the past 6 years
Soundway started out in comps, but has now gotten around to reissuing full albums by artists it featured earlier like K Frimpong & Tunji Oyelana. Good to see these records back in print. frimpong.bandcamp.com/music tunjioyelana.bandcamp.com/music
For decades, i dreamt abt seeing (South African jazz label) As-Shams records IRL. Thankfully, there has been a renewed interest in the label. Just in the past 6 years(!), many of their albums have been reissued here as-shams.bandcamp.com & as-shams-busy-bodies.bandcamp.com
