I don't think people who know his career through WWE revisionism realise that for most of DX's existence he was easily the least over member too; New Age Outlaws had the catchphrases, X-Pac had the Kane team and feud, Chyna was a mega-star. Triple H? He was there too.

I don’t know why it’s funny to me, but he had to be the straight edge guy to chauffeur around the Kliq. Also, never forget that because he’s a dork ass follower that he ran into the curtain call and indirectly created the greatest superstar in WWF history which may never had happened if he won KOTR

Edge needed Lita to get really over as a singles star though, and that relied a lot on shoot heat. He's not the only one to be really enhanced by a manager/valet.
