Physical media going away isn’t the issue that people should be focused on. This is like Trump distracting you from the Epstein files with a war. When the Xbox had an outage, BOTH physical and digital. You want useless plastic on a shelf, plastic that kills the environment, for your ego?

The industry can make so much money on the back of digital and not even have to raise prices to do it. They WILL go digital regardless because people aren’t ready to stop their hobby. $1000 systems and $100 games are the real issue. Focus too much on one they will kill one to activate another.

There has to be a more focused look at the industry because plastic being lost isn’t the issue for the majority of gamers. Capcom revealed recently that over 90% of their games are sold digitally. Not just Sony will benefit monetarily by switching, but the whole industry.

I am not making an argument against physical media, but you HAVE to be aware of the wins they can get without making it so costly to enjoy gaming. We need to stop buying the systems. No systems means no games and THAT’S what they worry about. Next gen is where the line in the sand has to be made.

Yeah man. I’m a PS guy and have been since PS1 but right now Sony feels crappy with their choices. I’ve been playing PC a lot and started loading my Xbox up again.

Yes, Xbox, the ones that have a code on the disc and nothing else. The company that has no clue what the fuck they’re doing. The one that is making their version of the steam machine. The loss leader in the industry. This is why the industry won’t change because people don’t understand the industry.

I’m just fed up of PlayStation leading the market and fucking over their fans at every possible moment. Xbox still sucks and has lesser quality games but you can see they’re trying to be for the players. Either way gaming is in a bad place right now and we need a saviour.

What other things have they been doing to fuck us all over? Getting rid of plastic is an environmental benefit. And I get it you’re still in your packrat phase, I was there, but taking up shelves upon shelves for boxes isn’t needed these days. Xbox doesn’t have games on discs, not even their devs.

Nintendo had a couple by their own devs that had no game, and they don’t require a game on the cart. Sony has all of their games on discs if it’s their dev, other companies don’t. Nintendo was the first $80 dev, now 2K will take the mantle with $100. The issue is what happened recently with Xbox.

They had an outage and both Physical and Digital were not playable. This is the issue. If you collect plastic because it somehow makes you feel better, I say get past it because it’s happening to EVERYTHING. Not saying be happy about it, but it’s capitalism working as intended right now.

Make profits go up. There is a ceiling to it all. They can cut out middle men and make more without charging more, which is what we want. Will that be what they shoot for eventually? Yes. We have to stop with the next gen and their $1000 systems. Say no to PS6, Helix and whatever N they put out.

Dynamic pricing which will be even worse once we are locked to the PS Store. They don’t even sell game codes like Xbox so you can’t even shop around for digital media. Some people like to collect things because they hold value regardless of data on the disc or not. I can still trade or swap too.

So an attachment to a piece of plastic. Okay, maybe it’s my age, but I grew out of it. Plastic is costly, environmentally dangerous and ultimately useless. Store fronts exist and they will try to price how they want, but what EVERYONE seems to miss is that them getting this profit opportunity >

Kicks the can further down the road. This is capitalism. They (EVERY COMPANY) will ALWAYS need to make that line go up, and if abandoning a dead media is the way, for now, I don’t see the point in keeping. Sales are dramatically in favor of digital. You want discs, wait like album lovers did.

Also, you are locked into MSRP if you’d lost track. Some tighter than others. Look at Nintendo and the stranglehold they have on pricing. That’s not an open market. PLEASE stop fooling yourselves into thinking capitalism isn’t a HUGE issue at this point. Income disparity and corporate greed.

Also, this gen Nintendo leads the market and they put out their most expensive system ever regardless of inflation and the most expensive games while they still charge you for digital games you can’t get anywhere else but piracy.

O ya "boycott" when there is nothing going on for Sony why not do it when Wolverine is coming out not on a month where there is nothing that sony looses.

Unironically, what would this do? Maybe unless it's an online multiplayer game, this doesn't impact Sony in any way. They already have your money for the console and the game! At that point, what you do with either doesn't matter to them. We can only speak in money for them.
