I must remind you all of that time Vanquish was dismissed by calling it “very Japanese” and everyone *knew* what the writer was implying

The past few weeks have made me consider whether part of modern Nintendo/Pokémon Derangement Syndrome is informed to some extent by lingering racism towards Japanese media, because even the actual bad parts of these things don't justify the knee-jerk reactions people have towards them.

"Casual racism towards Japanese art?" I'm not making the claim that it doesn't exist, btw, I just must have not been paying enough attention to the reaction to Japanese games (I tend to ignore the media around games nowadays because it is insane). Could you maybe give me an example?

I agree to some extent cuz some video genres like jrpgs kinda sucks compared to crpg or even dungeon crawlers
