Another interesting question I thought of here: if people sponsored on the Temporary Shortage List after July 2025 can’t settle, would it be the same for the Immigration Salary List or is that under legacy rules? Could be significant for care workers, senior care workers and auxiliary nurses.

Thank you. Could be quite significant then, although student to care switcher numbers are falling a lot. The other complication I can think of is for the salary discount. When a job falls off the ISL it can still apply to renewals with same occupation and same employer but not with anyone else.

Care workers is also complicated by the fact that it‘s not a medium skilled job so that complicates the pre-July 2025 protections.

21 July 2028 for careworkers; 30 December 2026 for others. Can’t extend with a CoS issued after that date
