When I was division chair for social sciences (largest division on campus) I wanted to spend $30 on snacks for our first meeting of the academic year. I learned that was a huge no-no because food constituted a “gift” and had to be approved by the VP. (My request was denied so I spent my own money.)
Mardochethics rules for my wife, a community college teacher: ironclad. strictly enforced ethics rules for government: what? lol makes me the joker every time she tells me about turning away a thankful/appreciative student gift because hey, that's quite against the law!
