The second reading of the Immigration and Asylum Bill will be on Monday 13 July, so squeezing it in before the summer recess and the transition to a new PM.

The second reading is the first debate on a bill, and considers the substance of what's being proposed (and anything that might be missing). No amendments at this stage, but likely to be a vote on it at the end of the debate. Committee stage - the line-by-line scrutiny - would then be in the Autumn.
