Thank you so much for this article, John. This is exactly what we need at this point and you articulated it so well and so clearly. Carney's plan is ambitious, long-term, and unifying for our country. It's also what we need, and the leadership that we need.

Bingo! We need sensible takes on all of the existential threats facing our country. That includes those that are pressing, such as threats to our sovereignty, & others that require international cooperation to solve, such as climate change mitigation. I wish it were different, but it ain't.

1/2 An anthropologist, I believe social/cultural conditions that promote policy acceptance are as important as the political, environmental, economic, health (etc) ones. COVID = cautionary tale, for example.

While Gilmore sometimes has good observations to make, just as often, she is short sighted. In the end, I find her "look at me, look at me" approach repelling, so I don't bother listening to her any more.

This makes perfect sense
