Yeah the oligarch Fossil Fuel boys don’t care, they’re all falling over each other to see which one plants their first oil rig off Big Sur!😈

When I sailed around point conception into santa barbra last month, dodging oil platforms, there was a massive oil spill there. After reporting it they called me back to tell me "oh yeah, thats just natural seepage coming up from cracks in the bottom. Its because its been so warm lately"

There was absolutly no clean up action going on, while thousands of seals and dolphins were swimming through it. The CG rep told me "theres lots of dead seals washing up on the beach with brown slugs of crude oil on the beaches". Anyway there is still crude oil all over my boat.

and many numerous California Residents have also sent that clear message. save our planet. keep our natural resources from destruction.

As it should be. Marine life is too precious to be risked for profit. FUCK TRUMP!

Good! Monterey Bay is beautiful and has lots of creatures and nature. No offshore drilling! Bet Trump doesn’t care 😡

Thank you California’s Coastline Commission 🫶!

California's coastline is one of its greatest treasures. Protecting it is an investment in future generations.

Yay!!

Clean oceans, healthy ecosystems, and a protected coastline should always be the goal

This week, the California Legislature adopted two resolutions by state Sen. John Laird. One opposes any new offshore drilling, and one celebrates 50 years of the California Coastal Act.

Senate Joint Resolution 12 affirms bipartisan opposition to the Trump administration’s proposed offshore oil and gas leasing plans, calling for California to be excluded from any future leasing + a full environmental review and opportunity for public input. Read more: mbayaq.co/4xiFqOr

Senate Concurrent Resolution 136 celebrates 50 years of the California Coastal Act, which created the California Coastal Commission and State Coastal Conservancy—protecting our coast and public access while helping communities plan for a resilient future. Read more: mbayaq.co/4hMZhka

Thank you, Sen. John Laird and the legislators who co-authored these measures, for your continued leadership protecting California’s coast! 🎉

I was in Huntington Beach this spring for a relative’s memorial service. From the surf city pier it appeared there were several platforms actively drilling in the nearshore bay. Was I mistaken?

There are many off shore platforms off of Californi, they’ve been there for a long time. We just don’t want any new ones and want the existing ones removed

What part of “active drilling” didn’t you understand

Ohio could learn a thing or two from California about protecting natural spaces!

Yes!

Made me LOOK, may other coastal states follow:

I miss living in CA . . . life was so sane there.

And that'll do it

Great! There is now no excuse for destroying life and the support systems of life. No more ecosystem destruction. None!

So sad this administration is afraid to protect this Earth; blasting the oceans, belittling climate concerns does nothing to keep America the beautiful! GOP/voters are shell-shocked to realize lies, denials & big $$$ trump/family are raking in for the scotus affirmed jury-convicted sex offender!

We need more of this!

Leave it in the ground!

Thank u

Fantastic

Not a problem. Don’t bitch about gas prices, you’re part of the problem.

I hope the fossil-fuel investors in our compromised Congress actually listen.

Beware…

NO DRILLING BABY DONALD NO DRILLING !!!

We don't need offshore drilling anywhere in this country it's stupid it's always been a catastrophe when they've done it that should be stopped permanently

The California coastline is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Everyone knows it. And those lawmakers are working to protect it. Well done! 💙

Probably the most beautiful place in America. Shh don't tell anyone.

Was headed back to SF from SD a few weeks ago, and because we weren’t in a rush, decided to take 1 the entire drive. It truly is majestic and must be saved and protected—from people like TRUMP!

No more Drill, baby, drill! These lawmakers are truly working for their voters.

Excellent

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️

Thank you Senator John Laird and California lawmakers

Needed to protect the coast.

It's so weird that he thinks offshore clean wind is ugly, but offshore polluting oil rigs aren't. What a fucking weirdo.

I don’t believe it’s aesthetic—I believe he has fossil fuel pushers so far up his ass and dishing out so $$ to him like they’re chicklets.

Meanwhile the newly crowned (not elected) British PM is contemplating re-opening expensive to extract and largely depleted oil fields off the North Sea coast because the snake that masquerades as a CEO at BP asked him to.

But windmills are ugly.

🗽

Now if only Florida would do the same to protect it's coastlines from offshore oil and gas development. Oil companies will push for production there next.

not BC Robert Bank 2 expansion and say goodbye to Vancouver Island and the whales. Carney and Smith because they don't care. they won't retire in canada. Tar sands is worth all of Canada, to these two ... and canadians like Carney next year he's pulling us out of the UN peacekeepers. 51st State

Protect stolen lands?

YES!!!
