Thank you for representing the victims. I had a therapist tell me that someone who suffered from DV and SV for the number of years I did, many times don't survive. They either die by their own hand or their partner's. That scared me. I am a mother, I felt I had no choice but to survive.

Excellent article! I know this won’t be a popular take, but a lot of people don’t realize that the same statistics about the stranger danger applies to any type of sexual abuse. It’s not the strangers on some registry that you need to worry about - it’s the person standing next to you.

I am a survivor of SA at the hands of a parent (beginning age 4), rape by a boy from church at 16, DV from 1st husband. It's no mystery why I've lived alone for 26 years. My entire life trajectory was ordered by that 1st SA. I've had enough, and the only way to be truly safe is to be alone.

As long as Christians, Muslims, Jewish, and most other religious people brainwash their children into joining fundamentally misogynist religions, violence against women and girls will always be a fundamental aspect of our society.

We know this. It’s why we chose the bear. As a mother of two boys, I just hope I do enough to make them great men.

I don’t disagree with anything you wrote. I do think, however, there is a piece missing. The worlds major religions have systemic ingrained misogyny. Can’t change a society without addressing the horrors religion inflicts on girls and women every damn day.

What’s the reasoning that they allowed that 16 year old to go home? Why wouldn’t they put him in juvie? Not going to lie, my immediate thought was because he’s white.

On another thread I posted a comment about how MAGA cares about one person killed by an immigrant but doesn't care that the number cause of death of pregnant women in this country is murder.

That graph shows a prominent absence of deaths due to bear attacks.

Entitlement is incredibly ingrained. The number of criminal sexual assaults by men is mind-boggling! It’s always been there and now, like convicted criminal/seditionist/pedo trump, it’s in the open. People are now DARING to address this breaking the men’s trusted “code of silence”.

I read it. Forwarded to all women in my life. And now profoundly, horribly sad. I can't fathom the gender gap forecast.

“You do not get a cookie for not being a rapist” should probably cause serious self reflection. I would venture to add ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to the list.
