As a long-time Regional Connect Pass user, I've created a quick flowchart to help you purchase the new Regional Day Pass. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple!

Shit really? I was under the impression it was an any time sorta deal

The only way to get to the RDP purchase screen is from the "thank you" screen after you buy a Metra Day Pass

Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. Me. This is like the Ventra contract being under the CTA's control. WTF is the RDP under Metra's?

Latest exhibit for reasons why the RTA needs to set and handle fares, the service boards simply can't be trusted to handle anything interagency-related

There's even the ridiculous Pace 30-Day Pass, Pace Premium 30-Day Pass, Pace/CTA 30-Day Pass, all of which are different from the Regional Connect Pass, which is different from the Regional Day Pass, which is different from the Metra monthly (but no 30-day) pass...

Ответ для Brianinja

Now that the Ventra app accounts for the lion's share of Metra fares, it should be easier than ever for Metra to finally go to 30-day passes instead of calendar monthlies

holy fuck is the wording bad on this. thats not how the zones work anymore!!!

Ответ для Lettuce Cat

I don't understand why they didn't just say "the Regional Day Pass is just an extra $2.50 to add to any Metra Day Pass"

Enjoy walking eighty suburbanites through this process on a crowded Saturday train now

Ответ для Star:Line Chicago

I wont

I formatted the flow chart to fit on a legal 8.5x14 page, happy to send you a PDF if you want to print them and hand them out on the trains

Best part is that the update still hasn't made it to some android devices so I'm still stuck paying the full $18.50 for today.

Ответ для HSRGood

Yeah I tried testing it out and...it didnt work

Ответ для Lettuce Cat

Buying which zones? 1-4?

Ответ для HSRGood

1-2

Ответ для Lettuce Cat

oh yikes, that should work but yeah if you haven't gotten the update then I guess you're sol

As demonstrated here (the blacked out section of the recording is my payment method)

If you can think of a better way to save $2.50 I'm sure the service boards are all ears

If only we had a conference of experts in town this week to help with the rollout of a new transit fare product. www.transport-ticketing-north-america.com

Can put Cubic on the spot in front of one of the leading reform sponsors in the General Assembly

Being unavailable on the actual card for predominantly CTA/Pace users makes totally useless. Why/how doesn't Metra have the small readers same as every bus? They're over a decade old now, im sure they can be even smaller on the conductor's belt.

How do I know what it costs? I need to know that to know if makes sense.

Ответ для Carmin

Regional Day Pass is a $2.50 add-on to any Metra Day Pass, or a 50% discount compared to buying a CTA/Pace 24-Hour Pass separately

Ответ для Star:Line Chicago

Thanks. I would benefit time-wise from a Metra/CTA commute so this helps a bit.

Ответ для Carmin

Just remember to buy the Metra ticket first, otherwise as soon as you tap in on the bus/'L' once you've already lost all the savings from the Regional Day Pass

Ответ для Star:Line Chicago

The next rainy (non-bikeable) day I will give it a shot. With 24 hours, maybe I can time things right and get three commutes out of it!

Also add a section on if your smartphone is iOS or Android.

That I hope gets taken care of in short order

Ответ для Star:Line Chicago

If it doesn't get fixed by 5p today, it's not getting fixed until at least 9a on Monday.

😂😂

Do I need the physical Ventra card or can I use my phone (for the cta/bus)
