In fact, I think that this is *the* great sin of psychology. We want so badly to be a grown up science like physics that we never bothered to get rid of our phlogiston and ether and establish our particles, elements, and mechanics. We don't have solid foundations in almost any part of our field.
Nicole RustAs a friendly (and very earnestly well-intentioned) counterpoint, I worry that we‘re a bit too focused on “meeting challenges where they are” before building solid foundations. Minimally, we need parallel pushes forward at all levels.
