Re cooking costs- I just made pasta for the first time in ages and estimate it cost £5.60 Compared to £2.60 for bought dried pasta. I didn't even try to calculate fuel and work hour costs costs - fresh pasta is far quicker to cook on the hob, but there is the prep time ( and effort)
