Anyway, it's *not* a reason for Democrats to block Trump nominations because Democrats *can't* block Trump nominations. That's the fundamental point. These people will be seated without Democrats. Seating nominees rated Well Qualified is the best way to keep Trump's henchmen off the bench.

We're aware they can't completely block all nominations. That doesn't mean they should vote for a single one or not use any means to slow down things as much as possible. Even just making sure they use all their talking time limits how many they can approve.

If you want to see our nation turn more authoritarian and despotic you have a great opinion. A court backlog is not the end of the world. You "moderate" institutionalists have no ability to see the actual impacts of government. You just want it working you don't care about results.

This is a black & white reading of the situational topography. As with most wingnuttery, it completely fails to appreciate nuance. "Just don't seat judges" is not an option available to you unless & until you have the White House and 60 votes in the Senate (yes, even with the nuclear option).

You're making a strawman that nobody said up to argue against. You seem unwilling to accept that attempting to slow processes down is a thing that is possible even if stopping them isn't. You also seem to think a seated GOP judge is better than a vacancy which shows you don't care about results

You get an Aileen Cannon by not using all levers to slow things and allowing them to fill more vacancies. You'll eventually get one that way.

The point is to save your red cards for Trump's operatives, and don't draw attention to reasonable candidates, lest they be withdrawn & replaced. Cannon was rated Qualified because she had a lot of experience as a prosecutor. Justin Walker was an outrageous choice, and shouldn't have been seated.

Most casual Bluesky loudmouths don't understand, nor appreciate that being a trial judge requires extensive experience and knowledge of legal procedure. That's not true for appellate jurists.

That's a reasonable retort. If you have any evidence of her work, writings, political leanings prior to her appointment, feel free to share. The ABA can only rely on information available to them.
