Welcome to 2026, where the half-price close-out fried chicken from the local market deli is the safest thing you can eat right about now

Delis are battlefields

Oh… so you are a Horror writer now?

COSTCO rotisserie chicken. Fortunately only 10 minutes from our house.

Great deal. Have you heard of campylobacter?

The line for deli chicken is long at the local store. People can't resist $5.99 chicken even if they have to sign up for the rewards app to get it.

I'm glad my source of rosemary and basil is "the big terracotta pot in my backyard"

My own rosemary plant is withering in my dad's garden. I tell him to water it but alas 🥲I want to rescue it when I can find somewhere with outdoor space.

At the moment, fugu is safer than lettuce.

Love it when they do this at the deli. For my neck of the woods it's like $6 for the on sale 8 pieces of fried chicken

I ate some ice cream. No side effects two hours later

A mainstay in my house. Also discount fish and meat. I'm a daily shopper so just create a meal based on whatever is available... on sale

Thank God we have an awesome local farmer's market!

I think the large pizza I got from Domino's is safe. Also, they cut it right for a change.

😜

Pretty tame weird burrito, if I'm honest.

Is it weird enough if the chicken is the burrito filling and the bag it came in is the tortilla? Pretty weird by my food standards, but it may or may not measure up to the weirdness metric of this particular situation.

I feel like a Scalzi burrito needs a third ingredient that sends it around the culinary bend. Like fluffernutter, or spaghetti, or escargot. So while the paper tortilla is indeed odd, it's missing that truly out-of-place ingredient. With all due respect to the bizarrito master himself, of course.

There you go: fluffernutter, escargot, and fried chicken in a paper burrito. Could be a new record. Does it count if nobody will eat it?

Uh... I got bad news for ya...

sorry, i don't get it (a joke, maybe?) signed, living with alzheimers survivor

No such thing as "too old food" when a microwave can bring the internal temperature high enough to start a fusion reactor.

We used to call microwave ovens "unlicensed nuclear accelerators" back in university.

Damn that's a good deal!

So ironic that lettuce is the unhealthy food now.

iceberg lettuce is overrated... for taste and nutrition ..i went to cabbage a long time ago ..unfortunately i buy the Walmart "marketside" tricolored coleslaw mix ... "marketside" is from Taylor farms 😂

Ответ для fl-anjet

Taylor Farms unfortunately is in lots of bagged salads! And I agree, cabbage is so much better!

Should have thrown in some jojo potatoes and a corndog just to be safe.
