During Hague Conferences before WW1 Russian Tsar proposed limits on expanding military technology and arms race. He did it not because Russia was such a peace loving country, but because Russia sucked at technology and was losing the race.
ErisOpenAI is just straight up, openly, corporately, advocating for working on the tools to make a pause possible. Absolutely insane. The last lab I expected to support this thing honestly, and given how they acted after signing that letter on open weights, I think this is feelgood PR bullshit.
