Game Pass is *already* a bustling indie library, and the author lists a ton of indie games they discovered and loved via Game Pass. Their argument appears(?) to be that Game Pass shouldn't have day-1 games, which is a fine discussion point but NO ONE outside of Xbox knows enough about the economics.

"transforming Game Pass into a bustling indie library could work to both rapidly shrink the costs of running the service, as well as retain more subscribers" IMO the primary reason Game Pass failed to hit its subscriber targets is because the mass market simply does not care to play lots of games.
