This morning we got up at 5:30 a.m. to go hiking before it got hot. Even at 6,500 feet it was 68° F by the time we reached the trailhead at 6:30. Way too hot for this Colorado gal. But deep in the canyon we were sheltered from the blazing sun. And we were back home eating breakfast by 9:30.

Bet if you went up to North Park it was a bit cooler! Glad you joined me in celebrating Annual Walk in the Woods Day

I wish were up higher right now! We were in Poudre Canyon. This trail is only about 25 minutes from our house in Fort Collins so we hike there a lot.

I grew up in Fort Collins, up to age 4. That was many decades ago. My mother's family is from Walden and I still have relatives there and in Ft Collins. On hot, muggy days in NJ I miss Colorado!

I love Walden! I thought about escaping there this weekend because of the heat. It hit 101° in FOCO today. I really should have gone, it was only 85° in Walden.

Great photos!

Thank you! My husband photo bombed me!

I guess it's all a matter of perspective. This native Floridian would be jumping for joy at doing a hike in 68F weather. 😉

I can imagine! We went to Florida a few years ago in January and it was still too hot for me. 😂

Nothing like taking a Christmas or New Years Day swim in 75-80 degree weather - even in the northern portions of the state. 😂

Sounds great! And I'm envisioning Christmas lights on palm trees too!

Oh definitely in the central and southern portions of the state.
