The year is 2046. I step out into a traffic lane and step up from the road into the streetcar on my last day of work before retirement. The newly purchased streetcars have no doors with the TTC claiming that our constrained roads don't have space for mechanical doors. It would cost $38B to fix it.

The streetcar derails short after running at 5 km/h on a single-point switch from the 1930s that hasn't been properly replaced because nobody manufacturers them anymore but the TTC says they can't change them to not irritate the Genius Loci inhabiting them.

Hahahaha you think you'll get to retire.
