The beat-em-up genre got its breath back all the way back in 2010 with Scott Pilgrim vs The World. We've been seeing a regular stream of beat-em-ups for almost 15 years. SOR4 happens to be one of the most high profile brawlers in that time, but it released a full 10 years later.

Pages 14-15 state that existing F2P titles are performing well and that they will strengthen the operation of existing titles, so at least things don't seem to be going badly. (I want to believe that.)
