Situated in a small sylvan sanctuary in Dinefwr, Carmarthenshire, St Tyfi's is a medieval foundation that was almost entirely rebuilt in the second half of the 19th century. 2/9

The church closed for regular worship in 1961 and, for some years now, St Tyfi’s has been supported by an indefatigable group of four local men. Inside, the colourful bunting strung from all the wall-plates has become a symbol of this church’s determination to keep going. 3/9

Taking St Tyfi’s, Llandyfeisant into our ownership, we want to repair the church and make it safe for people to use and enjoy for decades to come. However, if we undertake all the necessary repairs, we would be looking at a bill somewhere in the region of £650,000. 4/9

Thus, we hope to raise the money necessary to be able to restore St Tyfi’s, Llandyfeisant, along with St Helen’s, Biscathorpe in Lincolnshire, through our ‘A Victorian Revival’ match funding campaign. 5/9

The combined repair bill for these two churches will be in excess of £1 million. Thus, we are delighted that this year, a generous donor has agreed to make your support go twice as far, matching every pound you give, pound for pound, up to £500,000. 6/9

Our last match funding campaign in 2024 helped us rescue four churches: St Deiniol’s, Worthenbury; St Twrog’s, Bodwrog; St Andrew’s, South Runcton; and St Doged’s, Llanddoged. With your help, St Helen’s and St Tyfi’s will be next. 7/9

This campaign runs until 31st March 2027, or until we reach our target. Every donation, legacy and grant we receive will be doubled. Whatever you can manage will be put to work the day it arrives. 8/9
