i think my mental list of "golden rules to build muscle within your VN" so far is mostly just two criteria: 1) aim to have a very strong opening: animation, exciting music, snappy writing, cool visuals, whatever you can do to steal attention; 2) ambience and environmental noise!! it makes it 'alive'
