I've seen a 3D printed house being built. The company built 20 duplex units in the same amount of time it took them to build the one printed house. As far as infrastructure pre cast sections are still the most reliable and predictable material for bridges and such. Concrete just shouldn't be printed

that MIT team should try to find some high-strength plant-based construction material. It could be even lighter than 3d-printed concrete, and be even cheaper and easier to build with

I'm not eager to yuck some R&D yum, but concrete bridge sections are a post-tensioned product that relies heavily on the homogeneity of the poured substrate. 3D-printed concrete is by definition non-homogeneous.

This is been around for the last 10 years why is it still stuck on the ground

Call me when they can print rebar, plumbing pipes and Romex. Until then we're just goofing off.
