I had to work my way towards that, though. And it's not because I ever felt uncomfortable in the skin of my body but because of the societal construct of femininity. THAT is what I object to, not being female itself. Does that make sense?

I never wanted to be A Girl. I don't LIKE shopping. I don't like people. I hate kids. Gossip is fucking boring. Dresses SUCK. Being nice all the time is over-rated and gets you stepped on & used. I wanna be loud and obnoxious and obvious, not demure and polite and subtle. Let me be ME.

It just happens that the way I prefer to navigate the world reads as male, not female. And I resent being shoved into a box into which I don't fit! (Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me.)

Getting older, with less people trying to shove me into that box, means I can BE female without PERFORMING feminity. And that's ... fine? I can live with that. It's all I ever wanted, anyway. And that's enough gender-feels for the day. :) The End!
