Hell yes! I’m 46 and just started a few months ago. Your slap kick looks a lot better than mine

8 years of Muay Thai and yoga is coming in handy here!

Training the slap kick. I should have kept my arm straight… but not bad for week 2 of Wushu! 🐉🔥

Hell yeah. Never heard of Wushu but that looks like some movement that keeps you loose

Not bad? You're REALLY underselling this. That's impressive flexibility and technique for only 2 weeks. You have a knack and your instructor is doing a great job with you.

Keeping yourself young!

A million years ago I learned a bit of Northern Shaolin, which is a Southern Chinese interpretation of Northern leg work… this drill is a classic for training flexibility and leg work and coordination. I’m going to enjoy watching your journey up these mountains, I think.

Not sure how “old school” your sifu is, but watching those slap kicks, I’m reminded of a Northern Shaolin saying that a sifu can tell which form a student is practicing from the sound of the slaps and stomps.

There really is something to this art that keeps people limber!

I have done karate and king fu since 2001 - and now hold a three degree black belt in karate - I really hope you enjoy it !!
