Thank you, I needed an excuse to watch that again ♥️

Thank you for being such a welcome relief from … you know … everything. 🫶

It’s ironic that the sewer authority is bringing us relief from the shit. But then again, it’s what they do

You definitely win the internet today with that gem!

Respect to you all.

@angryblacklady.bsky.social just felt like you needed to see this.

having been in the pit orchestra for a production of 'Singin' In The Rain' where the stormwater management system did not function as expected, I feel this.

Ответ для Cathy W

we did have to deploy some permeable surfaces (towels and mops) on stage at the end of that number.

@dougmasson.bsky.social I feel like this is relevant to your professional interests. #drainage

Oh, this is fantastic! Also, it occurs to me that Impervious Surfaces might make a good band name.

Whoa Black Betty, debris jam.

Ermehgerd!

This really was an Epic performance. Go watch it if you haven't.

How we feel when we come across another awesome and informative NEORSD post on the timeline.

You folks are a credit to your profession and should join the ranks of both the best science communicators and the most noteworthy social media presences of all time.

This is so good. ☂️

I truly shocked they didn't work more information about stormwater management into that performance. It's what the people crave!

Swooning at how relevant this is to my interests, specifically.

ok so our stormwater strategy and rainfall modeling expert emailed me at 8:53 PM with an estimate of what kind of simulated storm hit that stage. his guess and i trust it is a 25- or 50-yr storm event. i added the calculation to the story, so read it or reread it for George’s sake, if nothing else.

I spent 8 hours today in a room of 30+ environmental professionals negotiating how to talk to real people. NEORSD comms people, I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know.

@neorsd.org I rocked it today. Thank you for your confidence. 💚💙

Came here to say this My company talks all the time about having a "data driven culture" and you know, there's a way to do that so people's eyes don't glaze over...

Ответ для DoctorTAS

"Data driven culture" just sounds like a topic that's designed to be boring!

Ответ для DoctorTAS

That way is to hire me, I'll sit there lapping it up.

Ответ для DoctorTAS

Did I just find you here on a sewer post? I love Bluesky!

Ответ для Jo Solliday

It does appear so! I don't advertise but I'm not hard to figure out...iykyk, as the kids are saying...

Ответ для DoctorTAS

In other news, @neorsd.org is the BEST

Ответ для DoctorTAS

They are indeed! And, technically, I found you whilst I was stalking Scalzi’s timeline.

Ответ для Jo Solliday

He, too, is the best

Ok, my dad was a civil engineer who worked with foundations. Please let George know I read it on my father’s behalf and I enjoyed it. I don’t typically think about storm runoff during my day, but I’m glad someone is planning for it.

..." hard surfaces like parking lots, driveways, rooftops, and *performing stages* greatly increase stormwater runoff volume and speed..." I will now always take performing stages into account when thinking about downpours. #TomHolland #AbsoluteUnit #MustWatch #LipSyncBattle

I bow before the magnitude of your geekiness. Well done. Very well done.

Just imagine how much an artificial wetlands would have reduced runoff and filtered pollutants, while providing valuable wildlife habitat on the stage!

Ответ для Cally

@linothel.bsky.social I think this might be up your street.

Ответ для Richard Gadsden

Oh that's delightful

That’s worth a follow! 🌂☂️☔️☂️🌂

Always looking for reasons to rewatch this. Well done.

Gotta say, whoever wrote that article deserves a shoutout. Well done 👏
