bc it helps to know the same exact behavior can occur in people who never drink, and some of them drink bc of how they are before booze, not that substance use disorder makes them way trump is a tee totaller and i believe always was

Yes and it helps that people who are around a drinker can recognize the symptoms not directly tied to drinking

Word is Trump used cocaine (to the point that it permanently damaged his nose & palate) and eventually switched to Adderall. Why do people repeat Trump’s claim that he’s teatotaler when he lies about everything? He also claims to be a genius & scratch golfer.

I think that claim gets believed because he goes out a lot and doesn’t drink, not because he’s trustworthy about that one particular thing.

Unfortunately, people (like Amy above) not only take Trump’s questionable claim to have always been a teatotaler at face value, they also imply that means he doesn’t have a substance abuse disorder which he clearly does. Due to his family’s history of alcoholism, he does prefer abusing other drugs.

teetotaller means "doesn't drink." nobody has ever contradicted him on him not drinking alcohol.

We all know what teatotaler means. 🙄 There are old pictures of Trump where he appeared to be drinking wine. Maybe it contained cranberry juice or he was pretending to drink to make a toast. Doubtful but maybe. The point is, it’s ridiculous to repeat Trump’s statements as facts. Trump lies.
