I've got tickets for a 5 pm showing! It's gonna be nuts!

First watching this I thought the line was "there's a new marble out that's supposed to be nuts" and I thought Tim's character was just that strange

Ответ для Bebs

Gotta get down to Dan Flash's

My bar for every Marvel movie is it has to be nuts. "Thunderbolts" wasn't nuts and I left the theater disappointed.

Gonna be so I real I forgot that getting drinks with your ex isn’t something that most ppl think is normal

The 9:00 am Friday morning show was packed.

I love the deadpan "people are saying its actually nuts" right after his son tried to say it was meh

This was hardest I’ve laughed at anything in a long time. Thanks for reminding me

Friendship - Toad Trip"Friendship" (2024) is a black comedy that has garnered quite a bit of buzz, especially for its unique comedic style and the pairing of its two lead actors. Here are some fun facts and trivia about the movie:   A Cult Comedy in the Making: Many critics have predicted "Friendship" will become a cult classic, similar to how "I Love You, Man" (also starring Paul Rudd) achieved cult status, but with a much darker, cringier, and more absurd edge. Tim Robinson's Feature Lead Debut: This film marks a significant step for Tim Robinson, known for his wildly popular and often bizarre Netflix sketch show, I Think You Should Leave. "Friendship" is his first leading role in a feature film, allowing him to expand his signature brand of awkward, desperate, and often unhinged comedy to a longer format. Written Specifically for Robinson (Eventually): While director Andrew DeYoung initially wrote the script without a specific actor in mind, he reportedly began to "write towards [Robinson's] strengths" as the project developed, once Robinson came to mind. Paul Rudd's Input: Paul Rudd, who plays the charismatic neighbor Austin Carmichael, was also an executive producer on the film. Interestingly, his character's name was originally "Brian" in the script, but Rudd requested it be changed to avoid confusion with his character Brian Fantana from Anchorman. He personally suggested "Austin."   Anti-"I Love You, Man": The film is often described as an inverted or darker take on the "bromance" genre, particularly drawing comparisons to "I Love You, Man" (2009), where Paul Rudd also played a character navigating male friendships. However, "Friendship" veers into much more uncomfortable and unsettling territory.   Director's Feature Debut: "Friendship" is the feature directorial debut for Andrew DeYoung, who has a background directing episodes of acclaimed TV comedies like Our Flag Means Death and PEN15.   Toronto International Film Festival Premiere: The film had its world premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 8, 2024, as part of their "Midnight Madness" program, which is known for showcasing genre films that are often edgy or cult-bound.   A24 Distribution: The film is distributed by A24, a company known for releasing unique, often indie, and critically acclaimed films across various genres, from horror (Hereditary) to drama (Minari) to comedy (Everything Everywhere All at Once). Their involvement often signifies a distinct cinematic vision.   Subtle Visual Humor: Critics have noted that much of the film's subtle humor also stems from its costume design and even unique cinematography choices, like "letterboxing" the screen, which some interpret as representing Craig's narrow focus or discomfort.m.youtube.com

I think I liked Friendship more than The Chair Company? Curious what your take is.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I had so much fun that I'm gonna see it again on a bigger screen

Ответ для Parker Molloy

You’ve been watching it for like 20 minutes by now, I bet! I’ve been sitting at work. Like an asshole.

Just got out of there. Spider-Man: Brand New Day! Probably my favorite of the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Holland and Jon Bernthal have great on screen chemistry (see also: The Odyssey). I liked the story quite a bit. It's the most true to character Spider-Man of Holland's career.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I saw it yesterday and 100% agree with you. No clue why they hid who Sink was playing, but this movie had a ton of heart.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

Those last 3 movies were just killing time until fabric science had advanced enough to put him in a real suit, now the real spider manning starts

Ответ для Parker Molloy

Genuinely surprised how moving the last act was. Most I’ve enjoyed a new Marvel in forever.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

They actually had him doing things only a spider can!

Ответ для Parker Molloy

going next Sunday, waiting to see it in a nice Dolby Cinema theater!

Ответ для Parker Molloy

Loved it.

Tom Holland's accent seemed a little different than what he's done in the past? It sounded more like he was going for something that was more distinctly New York than in other movies (vs. a more generically American accent), and there were a couple times it slipped just a tiny bit.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

Anyway, it was nice to see him actually play Spider-Man and not just Iron Man, Jr.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I liked to joke that the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies are actually just a pretty good template for how to do a pretty good Robin movie

Ответ для Parker Molloy

Also! Tom Holland definitely bulked up for this movie (which makes sense. He's not playing a high schooler anymore.) He's straight up ripped. 💪

Ответ для Parker Molloy

Yeah, gotta stretch. Also found myself inquiring about the size of potatoes and my housemates think I'm counting carbs.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I had reconciling that with his face for some reason. Same with Telemachus being mad. Movie was brilliant.

Honestly felt this was my favorite or second favorite Spider-Man movie (after Raimi's Spider-Man 2.) The MCU references felt organic and it just felt like a lived in universe. Also, loved the antagonist. Definitely a great twist I was NOT expecting.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

He honestly looked like 2-3 inches taller in some scenes too. Dude was just... grown.

I heard someone once describe Tom Holland's American accent as a Marty McFly impression and I haven't been able to unhear it since.

Ответ для mathew-finch

Oooooooooh! It IS very Marty McFly, isn't it?

Ответ для mathew-finch

That’s heavy.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

Interesting, considering he's had the same dialect coach for all four movies.

Ответ для Relevant Ferret If Known

Yeah, maybe it's just me and I'm misremembering the other SM movies, but in any case, I thought he was great in this.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I haven't seen this yet, but I thought his accent in previous films sounded like he was imitating Bobby Flay.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

This seems to be a deliberate choice because he's spending most of his time with people on the streets of New York rather than just his friends, his accent has gotten stronger.

Ответ для Stuart Ian Burns

Makes sense!

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I thought he was trying to lay on a thick accent to hide who he is from DeWolff.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

The new accent gave me Columbo vibes a couple times

Ответ для Parker Molloy

Yes! I honestly wondered if he was supposed to be doing a thing where he hid his voice with a different accent when in costume.

Ответ для Jonzor

It was kinda all over a little bit so I couldn't tell when he was trying to put a little extra on.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I noticed that too. He was trying to do more of a NYC accent rather than generic American. Also was pleasantly surprised how well the inclusion of Punisher worked. Great chemistry between the actors. And I felt some character growth for Punisher.

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I quite like the fact that this is easily the most sweary Spider-Man movie simply because of Bernthal using "shit" (and variations thereof) every sentence

Ответ для Parker Molloy

I literally didn’t even know this was coming out anytime soon. Do want to see it though, glad to hear you enjoyed it.

As a middle-aged guy that movie scared the hell out of me.

I did not know about this movie, and im already disturbed by it for some reason?
