Using crappy AI to say what correspondents are too cowardly to say out loud.

What. The. Fuck.

Still don’t understand why people think an idea that would be lame to do with actors would suddenly become cool by using GenAI

Wait, was *this* administration really saying that the press should be free to ask uncomfortable questions and not be controlled by the government? THIS one? The one that kicks the press out of press meetings when they ask uncomfortable questions?

no. the white house correspondents' dinner is hosted by the WHCA (White House Correspondents' Association), and the leadership is made up of senior figures of the largest press organizations. they're just also cringe and shit in their own ways, like inviting the president in the name of decorum

and yknow, generating an AI video to prove how courageous they are. timidly asking the president or his press secretary softball questions is speaking truth to power, etc

"I'm James Madison. Yes, that James Madison." No, you're not that James Madison. You're the hallucination of a power-hungry, water-consuming datacenter, the construction of which people are able to protest because of freedom of speech rights the real James Madison wrote into the First Amendment.

Bizarre AI-generated James Madison will return in Avengers: Doomsday

j kids like weird shit

F’ing deranged that the press participated in this gathering of imbeciles

Resorting to weirder and weirder “performances” of the First Amendment as opposed to actually, you know, exercising and defending it.

And then a few minutes later, there was one with Thomas Jefferson and John Adams? Just really weird stuff.

They really are surfing the backwash that’s on the other side of the world from the zeitgeist.

“While my predecessor here, JYOHN ADAMS”

Yeah. Why hello, sudden English accent

Thomas Jefferson, he owned slaves but you can be damn sure he was righteous about the free press. Funny how they can criticize Adams but not Jefferson when it comes to being a slave holder.

No. Why would I want to see this? I don't like being reminded that republicans even exist.

Madison looked to me like it was Tom Cruise in bad makeup.

It does! 😬

It looked to me like it was based more on actor Ben Miles

a bit cringe

Nothing they do is very original. The Rapist and Felon is literally just copying what he just saw at the new Theodore Roosevelt Library in North Dakota, an AI of Teddy who totally humiliated the dumb fuck.

I know James Madison would have killed that thing with hammers

Newsome should make a Teddy Roosevelt AI video where illegal preditory monopolies are busted up

he would because he's pathetic enough to stoop to tr*mp's level

Absolutely horrid but I gotta admit, Madison was cooking in the first part. A lot of modern journalists are more worried about their specific brand than holding power to account, so they get insecure about tweets. Of course that’s ruined though as the horrid AI shifts to the 1A clumsily.

I know this is hyperbolic, but this is the sort of think gets me thinking they want us all dead

kinda weird but you know it got under Trump's skin

Da fuq?

The delivery and voice is so bad omg how have people settled for this??

Right? Have some standards, people

Using Gen AI is the fastest way to prove you prefer taking shortcuts to doing real work. Not a great sign for journalism!

When does JM b*tchslap the felon across the face?
